Juan March Foundation
   Founded in 1955 by the financier Juan March Ordinas the foundation exists primarily to promote scientific education, by funding postdoctoral fellowships in Spain and abroad, visits to Spain by leading scientists, international seminars and prizes. The Juan March Institute for Study and Research established in 1986 comprises the Centre for Advanced Study in the Social Sciences and the Centre for International Meetings on Biology. The Foundation also sponsors a wide range of cultural events including art exhibitions and concerts, and publishes book reviews, news bulletins, reports and summaries of research. In the area of social assistance it makes donations to recognized relief and charitable institutions.
